Development cooperation

The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission, FELM, supports 91 development projects in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. FELM is one of the largest non-governmental organisations in Finland.

FELM has received government funding for development cooperation since the 1970s. In 2003, FELM signed a Partnership Agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland. This means the Ministry of Foreign Affairs funds part of FELM's development work. The current funding agreement covers 2011-2013.

In 2010, FELM received 6,5 million euros from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This equals 85 per cent of the total development budjet. FELM funds the remaining 15 per cent. In 2010 this was 1,1 million euros. The total development cooperation budget was 7,6 million euros.
